Product Fulfillment/3PLSales Manager – Job Description

 

This role will be primarily responsible for promoting and driving the company’s overall objectives to ensure continued growth and success of the company and report directly to company’s CEO. This role will source, secure and manage the product fulfillment/repackaging needs for new and existing
customers, while maintaining high levels of customer communication/service and acceptable profit margins is vital. This role requires having the ability to innovate strategic solutions utilizing technology and then successfully implementing them at a tactical level. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, highly motivated, urgency-driven and is a confident professional.

 

Job Type: Full-time/Office-Warehouse Setting

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work in partnership with senior leaders of the company to execute current objectives and develop a plan for future organizational needs.
  • Attend all weekly department (client services, operations, strategy, etc.), meetings to participate in discussing service issues, KPI metrics, client communications, and any related items.
  • Utilize business development skills to identify, qualify and develop relationships with prospective customers and independently generate new sales revenue.
  • Create and manage a team of sales representatives to develop their industry and sales knowledge, including prospecting, pipeline development, closing business, managing accounts.
  • Track and maintain all sales activity in the company via a weekly pipeline summary report.
  • Develop potential strategic carrier following for dedicated business.
  • Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships.
  • Source and secure freight coverage by any method including but not limited to; internet searches, past contacts, current carriers, website leads, business development leads, sales agent leads and other client leads.
  • Collaborate with team on details required to ensure most effective solutions to customers and our carrier partners.
  • Develop and manage KPI measurements, goals and processes for departmental accountability.
  • Communicate all potential problems with senior company leaders.
  • Travel as business requires.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:

 

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven sales experience within the 3PL/Product Fulfillment industry.
  • Strong understanding of brokerage operations and geographic freight markets is required.
  • Prior demonstration of negotiation skills is preferred.
  • Existing customer base is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work with others along with working independently.
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task in completing scheduled activities along with additional activities.
  • Ability to manage communication in a positive manner.
  • Punctuality and a good work ethic are critical.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) required.

 

This position offers a competitive base salary with a profit margin defined commission structure.
